2m DisplayPort Male to Female Extension Cable (V1.2)
Overview – DisplayPort was developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). It is primarily used to connect a digital video source such as a laptop or desktop PC to a monitor, it can also be used to transmit audio and other forms of data. This cable can be used to extend a current DisplayPort cable.
Please note when your total length of cable exceeds 5m, the achievable resolution may drop.
Not all graphics cards will support audio playback through DisplayPort. To check if you computer does, right click your speakers icon in the bottom right of your screen. You will then get a list of supported devices such as SPDIF, Headphones, HDMI, if one of these devices is DisplayPort (DP), then your DisplayPort will support audio playback. Obviously, you will also need to check that your monitor has in built speakers.
Data Transfer/Resolution – This cable is version 1.2 and is therefore suitable for up to 17.28GB/s and has a maximum resolution capability of 3840 x 2160.
